NIMC STAFF AWARDS AND DINNER 2013/2014

The National Identity Management Commission held its inaugural Staff Awards and Dinner 2013/2014 on the 23rd of January , 2015 at the Nicon Luxury Hotel Abuja. The event which was anchored by the General Manager Corporate Communication Mr Abdul-Hamid Umar supported by popular Abuja based MC Nick B, was an opportunity for former management staff of the Commission , governing board members, management and staff to relax in an atmosphere of music, jokes and recognition of service. Awards and Certificates were presented to Pioneer Management Staff of the Commission , members of the governing board and to staff members who had distinguished themselves in the various departments and the zonal operations of NIMC.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko Inde enrolled for his National Identification Number (NIN) at the Special NIN enrolment center located within the Nigerian Customs Service Headquaters Abuja and expressed the Nigeria Customs Service's readiness to collaborate with NIMC.

FORMER MILITARY PRESIDENT IBRAHIM BABANGIDA RECEIVES HIS NATIONAL e-ID CARD IN MINNA

Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, was issued his National e-ID Card on Tuesday, 20th of January, 2015 at his Hill top home in Minna Niger State.
The Director General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) accompanied by Senior Management of the Commission were on hand to present the e-ID Card and supervise the card activation process.

FACTS ABOUT THE NATIONAL e-ID CARD


Now that the National Electronic Identity ( e-ID) Card has been formally launched, a lot of questions are being asked, which need to be cleared up. If anyone has any doubt as to the authenticity and accuracy of what is contained below, they should kindly back up their claims with real facts and proof so as not to mislead the General Public. Firstly, the new National e-ID Card issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is primarily a National Identity Card with a SmartCard built-in, containing provision for up to 13 applets, of which 5 are activated when an applicant picks up his/her Card.

NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (NIN) ENROLMENT IS FREE

The attention of the Commission has been drawn to allegations in some quarters , that applicants for the National Identification Number (NIN) are being asked to pay money before they can be enrolled.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) wishes to state categorically that business center operators who charge money to do the online pre-enrollment for applicant are NOT NIMC staff or agents.

NIMC COMMENCES e-ID CARD ISSUANCE TO NIGERIANS

The National Identification Management Commission (NIMC) is calling on all Nigerians and legal residents who have successfully enrolled for their NIN and have received text message notifications to proceed to the NIMC offices indicated in the SMS to collect their e-ID Cards.
